    REGISTRATION INFORMATION

    NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION

    If your child is new to Edmonton Public Schools, you can register for school online. Visit the Division website to learn how to register for school.

    Kim Hung School is a closed boundary school. As outlined in Division regulations, the only new students accepted to our school during pre-enrolment are:

    1. Resident students who live within the attendance area.
    2. Siblings of current students who will be returning to the school the following year, unless otherwise determined by the Superintendent for a particular school.

    If the student you are registering or pre-enrolling meets one of these criteria for the coming school year, please register them online (new students) or pre-enrol through SchoolZone (existing students).  

    Following the close of pre-enrolment in April, the school will only accept resident students who have newly moved into the attendance area or resident students eligible for Kindergarten.

    Additional documentation may be required including additional address documents, or immigration documents for students who are not Canadian citizens.

    PLEASE NOTE: We are unable to accept Bank statements, Mutual Funds or Retirement Savings Plans. We will accept the following:

    • electricity bill
    • natural gas bill
    • water, garbage pick up and sewer
    • mortgage document with proof of home insurance or
    • lease agreement with proof of tenant insurance

    We are a closed boundary school and will not be taking any registrations from outside our catchment.

    These sessions are open to all KHS families from kindergarten to grade nine and scheduled every Wednesday from 10:00-11:00 a.m. If you would like to join us, please send an email request to kimhung@epsb.ca and we'll add you to our list.
     

    CURRENT DIVISION STUDENTS PRE-ENROL

    You will need to pre-enrol on SchoolZone to tell us the school you’d like your child to attend next year. Find important dates and deadlines and learn more about pre-enrolment, which opens between March and April each year.

    THE FOLLOWING CLASSES ARE CURRENTLY FULL AND NOT ACCEPTING REGISTRATIONS FOR THE 2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR.

    Kim Hung School is full in planned classes in Grades:

    • One
    • Five
    • Seven
    • Nine

    For the 2023 - 2024 school year, Kim Hung School is full in planned classes in Grade 2 in the regular program. We will now only accept resident students in Grade 2 who have newly moved into the school’s attendance area. A resident student of Edmonton Public Schools has at least one parent or legal guardian living in Edmonton who is not Roman Catholic. Non-resident students can enrol in another Division school with space in planned classes.

    If you are registering for Kindergarten or if you are new to Edmonton Public Schools, you must register online.

Kim Hung School is located in the Granville area and serves the communities of Granville, Glastonbury, and the dual-designation zone in The Hamptons. We offer regular programming for all students in Kindergarten through Grade 9. Kim Hung School is a closed boundary school. As outlined in Division regulations, the only new students accepted to our school during pre-enrolment are:

  1. Resident students who live within the attendance area.
  2. Siblings of current students who will be returning to the school the following year, unless otherwise determined by the Superintendent for a particular school.

Following the close of pre-enrolment, the school will only accept resident students who have newly moved into the attendance area or resident students eligible for Kindergarten. All non-resident students and those living outside our attendance area will have to enroll in another Division school, as space in planned classes permits.

Children who are five years of age on or before December 31, of the current school year may register in Kindergarten‌.  Schools start accepting new student registrations for the next school year in early February. Current students within Edmonton Public Schools who reside within the Granville, Glastonbury and The Hamptons communities will be able to pre-enroll through SchoolZone between mid March and mid April. Families may continue to register their child(ren) over summer break and will be contacted after staff return to school in late August. Please visit the Division website to learn how to register for school.

Principal's Message

Dear Parents & Guardians,

Our staff team works collaboratively with parents & guardians to provide a safe, respectful and nurturing learning environment where all students are celebrated and become successful learners. It is our mission to inspire and support children as compassionate leaders, engaged learners and ethical citizens. 

Our school’s namesake is Mr Kim Hung, a well-known organizer and advocate of the local Chinese community. The City of Edmonton named Mr Hung one of the 100 Edmontonians of the Century in 2004. He was inducted into the City of Edmonton Community Service Hall of Fame in 2006 and was recognized by the Edmonton Historical Board in 2012 for promoting Edmonton’s heritage.
